Steering wheel locks, frequently referred to as Clubs, are a common and useful auto theft deterrent. They are highly visible from the outside of the vehicle and they discourage thieves from breaking into cars by popping locks or shattering windows. If a car thief see these devices they tend to move on to the next car.
The AmeriCorps Urban Safety Project recommends that residents utilize these car clubs in their neighborhood and around town. We have a limited supply of car clubs that we distribute to block clubs members in our target area free of charge.
The Wayne State Police Department sells twin hooks car clubs for $13 to those with WSU One Cards.
